While some see Dave Sifry's resigning from the Technorati's C-desk as a sign of the 2.0 wave decline, others keep saying that the Silicon Valley's mentality since 99 has evolved into a more mature and participative movement.
I interviewed Brian Solis this week about Bub.blicio.us, which covers a majority of the tech parties in the Silicon Valley. From his point of view, the 99 bubble was the San Francisco's new gold rush: "Egotistical-driven" as he calls it (in a non-offensive way, off course).
The 2.0 phenomenon is based on collaboration and mutual support, kind of the San Francisco's love movement of the sixties. Where the Gold rush relied on the earth resources to keep attracting entrepreneurs of all sorts, the love movement relied on a great economic growth/deep social changes.
