Loic Le Meur, homeboy from the French blogosphere, has decided to move his business to the United States. He officially announced it during the night premiere of When the Internet starts bubbling.
Loic has threatened to flee from France if Segolene Royal had became president, so his decision to leave anyway comes in as a surprise. Why taking off? His motivations are actually not political: If his last exile to Belgium was for tax concerns, his new exile to the Bay is "to be where it's at".
San Francisco and the Silicon Valley are considered the living heart of IT development. A plethora of startups are settling nexxt to foggy city. Loic Le Meur is flying to California to start his own startup.
This decision seems to be definitive. Loic gradually desintricated himself from Six Apart Europe (resigned from presidency in March) and from his blog, letting other contributors to release postings. Finally, Loic was very committed to Nicolas Sarkosy' campaign, but the blogger would have take a few step back from the French president's entourage since then.
